2019: Girls Behind the Pearls Vision

Hi guys! We’re so glad you’ve made it to our blog. This is our first post (yippee) and we thought this is the perfect timing and forum to talk about our goals for 2019.

As always, our priority is getting funds back into the hands of the rescues and shelters that need it; and this year, we hope to maximize margins to do just that! More dollars donated per pair of earrings sold: doing the most good for (wo)man’s best friend. We plan to fill up more weekends on our calendar with fundraisers this year, hoping to surpass our donations from last year.

This year we’re really excited to refine our jewelry collection. In the two years since our founding, we’ve honed our sourcing to find high-quality, reliable manufacturers, which means we’re changing our pearl posts soon (Spring 2019). At a slightly higher price point, we’ll have both silver and 22kt gold-plated available in all of the breeds you know and love (we’ll dedicate an entire blog post for a deep-dive of the new studs!). What this really means is higher quality, more options, and more money donated per pair. It’s win-win-win!

We also hope to launch a new collection of hand soldered luxury costume jewelry (fun!) that will mix pearls and crystals in new ways. These pieces will be made in small batches and will be limited edition, and we’re so excited because the possibilities are endless! Seasonal pieces, timeless staples, bridal fashion -

At the end of the day, our mission is always going to be centered around the dogs. This year, however, we also want to focus on the jewelry that enables us to drive that mission; because, in the end, we need to be a successful business to be a successful non-profit. 2019 will also hopefully be the year of some amazing new collaborations to accelerate our impact!
